Types of roles 

There are three types of roles, the types of managerial roles refer to specific categories of managerial behavior.


-         Management Roles;

 Managers play various roles at work; each role depends on the level they are responsible for or the positions they occupy.

supporting employees to accomplish their tasks need more than only one role. 

Henry Mintzberg decided 10 managerial roles can be grouped as those primarily concerned with interpersonal relationships, the transfer of information, and decision making.



Interpersonal roles;
· Interpersonal roles involve tasks related to people like subordinates and communicating with people outside the organization.

· Interpersonal roles include being a figurehead, leading, and liaison.



Informational roles;

  ·          The second group of roles is the informational roles, which involve receiving, collecting, and disseminating information.

·          The informational roles like a monitor, disseminator and speaks person.


 

Decisional roles;

 ·       The decisional roles involve making choices.

 ·       It consists of four sub-roles as disturbance handler, resource allocates, and negotiator.
